Teen mothers and young women who are out of school are among the most overlooked people in society. Without income, they are exposed to poverty, exploitation and violence. Climate change is making things harder: erratic rainfall is destroying harvests.
Climate and Care
Our flagship programme in Kilifi County, in partnership with Uplift Her CBO. Climate and Care links income, health and protection for adolescent girls and young women aged 15 to 35 around Mnarani, Kilifi County, especially teen mothers and mothers who are out of school.
Climate is not a separate project; it runs through everything: tree planting and clean-ups at our medical camps, climate-health education, and climate-resilient farming in Kilifi. We consistently work to include persons with disabilities and to reach both women and men.
